Extracellular acidification rate (ECAR)-time plot as measured by Seahorse assay in healthy controls, low and high risk infection group. ECAR represents cellular metabolism through glycolysis. Seeing no difference in total ROS production across the three groups (Fig. 3), indicating that oxidative stress did not play a role in reducing mitochondrial respiration in PBMC of high risk infection groups.
