TCAV time-controlled adaptive ventilation, LTV low tidal volume, IPF peak inspiratory flow, EPF peak expiratory flow, PIP peak inspiratory pressure, PPlat plateau pressure, PMean mean airway pressure, PEEP positive end-expiratory pressure, MV minute ventilation, VT tidal volume. Proximal mucus movement was significantly different between all groups (p < 0.05), except ARDSnet groups 4, 5, and 6. EPF was significantly different between all groups (p < 0.05), except ARDSnet groups 5 and 6. Regarding IPF, there was no significant difference between TCAV group 1 and ARDSnet groups 4, 5, and 6; however, groups 1, 4, 5, and 6 had significantly greater IPF than TCAV groups 2 and 3 (p < 0.05)
