Preparation setting. Five vascular catheters are represented in the image: an arterial line, a central venous line, a hepatic vein line, a portal vein line and a pulmonary artery line. From four of the lines (excluding central venous line) blood samples were taken at baseline and hourly during the observation for blood gas analysis and cytokines concentration assessment. In the image the thoracic duct is represented in green and the level of ligation of the Edema group is reported. The abdominal organs analyzed in the study are all represented in the figure (lungs, small intestine, colon, liver, spleen and kidneys)
