Drosophila surviving sepsis induced by Staphylococcus aureus and treated with linezolid had impaired glucose metabolism with increased lactate production, increased LDH activity, sustained inflammation, and significantly shorter lifespan. The switch between oxidative phosphorylation and aerobic glycolysis could be the metabolic regulator of inflammation
