Predicted versus observed treatment success rates in a real-world clinical trial [18]. The predicted probability of success was computed using a three-variable logistic regression model derived from the in silico clinical trial results. The predicted probability of success was significantly greater amongst patients with observed treatment success in comparison to patients with observed treatment failure (p = 0.025), and the predicted probability of treatment success discriminated between patients in whom lung- and diaphragm-protective targets were or were not achieved (area under receiver operating characteristic curve = 0.83)
