Three cohorts of swine underwent related experiments using the same method of hypoxic injury. Cohorts 1 (N = 48 total rounds) and cohort 2 (N = 15 total rounds) did not receive ionized calcium treatments. Cohort 3 (N = 37 Ca++ boluses) received ad hoc ionized calcium in 9 of the 14 experiments. Cohorts 2 and 3 underwent a maximum of 4 experimental rounds, whereas cohort 1 underwent a maximum of 5. Blank entries indicate the animal did not survive to that round of experiment. Some blood gas data was missing, which is labeled accordingly
